Kiss-
The most famous of all the Algarve nightclubs, Kiss known for its memorable party nights and theme festivals. Three dance floors offer house, techno and hip-hop and attract seasoned clubbers and tourists from all over. The action really starts around 3 am and goes into the wee hours of the dawn. Phoenix- This venue is a huge hit with locals and visitors alike who pack the dance floor and grind to a musical reportoire of house, soul and ethnic rhythm. Travessa do Cotovello, Lagos.
Kathedral- Right down-town Praia de Rocha, a bright red neon announces three bars that flank a central dance floor that is never quite big enough to house the throngs of party people. A sprawling terrace bar at the back affords great views of the beach and is an ideal chill-out spot, fanned by sea breezes. Avenida Tomas Cabreira, Praia da Rocha, Portimao.
Kadoc -
This nightclub can accommodate up to 7,000 party-goers on five dance floors illuminated by a spectacular tricolour laser system. The young and energetic crowd keeps the club open from midnight until 7 am. Estrada de Vilamoura.
Stevie Ray's Blues Jazz Bar- Live jazz on Saturday nights adds to the pure Dixie atmosphere in this excellent late-night bar. The music varies from rocking blues to mellow swing. Don't forget your smart/casual dress. 9 Rua Sr da Graca, Lagos. Open 8:30pm-2am Tuesday-Saturday.
Bar Capicua- The first floor terrace is perfect on balmy summer evenings where you have the option of intimate chatting before joining the throng on the dance floor where things often get steamy. Marina de Portimao. 3pm-4am daily in summer.
Discoteca Ubi and Bar Bubi- The heavy house and trip-pop packs clubbers into this bar, while great theme parties mix it up from time to time. Antiga Fabrica Balsense, Rua Almirante, Candido dos Reis, Tavira.
Liberto's- Football stars and TV personalities are included among this bars summertime clientele and the esplanade is a favourite location for fashion shows. Inside a giant TV screen relays 24 hour cable TV broadcasts but by midnight the DJ takes over the the real party begins. Areias de Sao Joao, Albufeira.
T-Club- Elegance drips around the cocktails and exotic Japanese cuisine that are offered in a patio build around decadent tropical gardens. But beware, the prices match the decor. Buganvilla Plaza, Quinta do Lago, Almancil.
Round Up Saloon- Feeling and looking like a Texas saloon, this place offers live rock music most nights except for weekens where budding musicians are encouraged to jam or karaoke festivities ensue. 1 Estrada do Farol, Praia do Carvoeiro.
