In what is one of the heartlands of Lagos and the Algarve, there is much to explore, from art, hiking and even mountain biking.

Founded in 1930, the museum Dr. José Formosinho quickly developed into a multidisciplinary museum with valuable and unique collections. Its assets include archaeology, sacred art, history of Lagos, ethnography of the Algarve, painting, numismatics, mineralogy and overseas ethnography.

The Forte of Ponta da Bandeira, also known as Forte de Nossa Senhora da Penha de França or Forte do Registo, was built between 1680 and 1690 and had the function of defending the access to the pier and the southeast and east flanks of the city wall, crossing fire with the bastion of Porta da Vila and with the bastion of Castelo dos Governadores.

They are sought after for their warm, golden sand and clear, calm waters, which are sometimes corners of cliffs carved out by the sea, sometimes extensive beaches that are almost lost on the horizon. We are talking about beaches as welcoming as Dona Ana or Camilo, nestled in the golden cliffs, and others as attractive for their size as Meia Praia, one of the largest in Europe, Porto de Mós, where sand and sea meet. stretches as far as the eye can see, or Praia da Luz, with the imposing Rocha Negra serving as its guardian.
